We burn wood daily in our fire place, not only for assisting with our hearing bill, but also to enjoy the ambience if offers. So, for us , a grate must hold up to frequent use. This product has stood the test . Solid , sturdy, and the right size for our circumstance. We are so pleased!

The item was delivered in a timely manner and seemed sturdy and worked fine in my fireplace for approximately two weeks. After emptying ashes I notice a chunk had broken off. There's no way I can return it....Not very Durable

I liked how beefy this grate is. That makes it a little difficult to move around, but it makes it last a long time. I've had wimpy grates that lose their shape over time. This one is staying strong after some pretty hot fires. The only thing I don't care for it the raised edges on the sides. I tend to use logs that are longer than 18" so the raised edge gets in the way a bit. But it's not a deal breaker, and I would buy this again.

I am so glad I replaced my old crappy grate with this one. It's beefy, great shape, perfect for my fireplace. I already used it this past season. I love that my logs no longer roll off the back! Good design on this one.

On first use, the material didn't stand up to heat. Parts become brittle and crack and break apart. I don't know if this is dangerous as long as your fireplace is closed or has a curtain, but if it's open that could cause a log to roll. I still give it three stars because it's purpose for me was to keep fire raised so air could go under, which it still does. Can't give it more because something that is cast iron shouldn't be so easy to break.
