They have seemed to keep an edge for a surprisingly long time through black iron pipe and numerous aluminum beams! I would buy again if I need more.

Bits like these are incredibly useful when you're drilling thicker metal. Genuine cobalt bits like these with the dull gold finish last much longer and cut a lot faster than any imitations. They cost accordingly, but it's not a good value to break 3 or 4 inferior bits trying to do the same thing one of these will.The bits come in a nice storage case (albeit a bit oversized, it could hold 30 or 40 of these bits as easily as 5). They are packed in a bag and oiled to prevent corrosion, a nice touch.I really like the 6" length. This is the first I've been able to find longer cobalt bits and I'm glad that Amazon has made them available at a fair price, you probably won't find these at the big box store or even most hardware stores locally.I try to always keep several sizes of these on hand, because I usually end up needing them when in the middle of some auto repair project or something similarly frustrating. This way I don't have to go to town when the need arises. Great bits, fair price. If you drill metal, just get them.

They worked very well on soft Carbon steel. Didn’t do well against Hardened stainless steel. So I guess they’re not exactly what they say

Had trouble with other bits breaking off while drilling through Trex decking boards. Broke 5 in one day with another brand in fact. This brand held up great over multiple days and hundreds of holes going through that dense material. Bits handled the high friction heat well and zipped through those boards.
