Nice size with true size dimensions. I have found ironing my sewing fabrics to work great on this because the wool help holds it in place so the fabric doesn't stretch and misshapen. One thing to know is moisture WILL go right through this wool pad and could damage your work surface underneath. For that reason I just bought 2 18inch tiles at Lowe's for a $1 each to place underneath the mat. No bad smell.

I have been using this wool pressing mat for the last couple weeks for all of my pressing. I had heard wonders about wool mats and how much faster and cleaner things ironed, but I was content with my tabletop ironing board for the most part. I never liked pulling out my full size board, as it was a hassle, and I liked the convenience of the smaller option. Well a couple weeks ago, I upgraded my sewing station to a desk with a pull out “L†that is roughly 22†x 15â€. I initially knew that I would use this extension for holding the weight of my quilts and giving me more workspace in general. Then I found this mat, and for the size and price, I just had to give it a shot. When I pull out the desk extension, I set this mat on there, and I can do a quick press in the middle of my project without having to haul out and set up any size ironing board. And I have never seen fabric press so quickly and perfectly. When I’m done pressing, I sometimes like to set my hands down flat on the mat and feel all of the warmth radiate back into my hands - it’s like a warm hug. The included notions bag is cute, and I don’t penalize the product for this, but the notions are definitely of lower quality than the mat, and I probably would not use them personally, but they do make a nice backup set just in case.TL;DR - This mat is fantastic, it fits in small spaces, is super convenient, and best of all, it gets perfect presses every time!

Purchased and placed on top of small desk, with Velcro dots. I will use to press quilting blocks and the finished quilt tops. The wider and larger mat makes pressing any size fabric easy. Thanks for a great product. I will enjoy using it for many years.

This mat is just the perfect size to place on a folding table beside my machine. It holds the heat beautifully and I get a lovely press. There is no smell that I notice. I love my mat and have had it over a year and it's still like new. It's nice and thick and sturdy.

This mat is definitely worth the money, even though it’s expensive for an pressing mat, but it’s a very good natural compressed wool, I have covered the mat with cloth to give me smoother surface wet hike working on it, very happy with it and it’s good value for money, I am however pretty sure this mat will last a long time if you cover it with a cloth to prevent it from hot iron. definitely recommend this specially if you artisan

I bought this for my wife as a birthday present, she does lots of quilting and other stitchery, she tells me that this mat is absolutely fabulous and it is far better than 'hard base' type mats that she has used for ages beforehand. She says; it is soft and pliable, holds the heat well and offers great protection to the metrials that she is ironing (she does work with some very intricate and delicate cloths), so go get one.
