1X30 Assorted Belt Kit with Super Strop Leather Stropping belt for powered Belt Sanders. A 1" X 30" leather Honing strop, when used properly with our Made in USA Buffing Compound can leave an incredible mirror polish finish on your knife's edge along with razor sharpness. You can also do it in a fraction of the time compared to hand stropping. When stropping a knife with a Super Strop, remember to use light pressure and allow the belt to do the work. Move the knife at the same speed you would if you were sharpening with an abrasive belt. The 1X30 in. Super Strop works fast! Make just 2 passes, at a slightly lower angle, on both sides of the knife and check for the burr and test your sharpness. Depending on what grit progression you used, more stropping may be necessary. Super Strops are quality leather belts for stropping with belt sanders. The 1X30 Leather Honing Strop Belt will not only polish your knife’s edge to a fine finish, it will do a superior job of removing the final burr that was created while sharpening. Super Strop Leather Strops are made for 1X30 Belt sanders like the Harbor Freight, Wen, Rikon, Craftsman, Central Machinery and virtually any belt sander that accepts 1x30 inch sanding or sharpening belts. A 1x30 Belt Sander can make a fast and convenient knife sharpener, and you don’t have to stop there. Sharpen knives, tools, chisels, Mower Blades and so much more. Your leather belt may seem a little small when you install the strop on your 1x30 belt sander for the first time. The leather strop belts are made slightly shorter than traditional 1x30 sharpening belts to compensate for stretching over time. Once installed, your belt sander is a stropping machine. After applying a thin layer of sharpening Compound to your leather strop, you can begin stropping your blade on your 1x30 belt sander. You must strop Edge Trailing. Most belt sander’s belts travel down. Keep your knife edge pointed in the same directions the leather honing belt is traveling.

I loved this kit. I bought it as my first kit for knife sharpening on a lovely harbor freight 1” belt grinder. These belts fit on there nicely. A variety of grits come in the kit. My favorite is a strop with some polishing compound. If you forget something just refer to the instructions that come with it. They tell you everything you need to know. Top notch performance and a smooth grind. Y’all stay sharp. Cheers!

I think this was a good price for the quality of product you get. The sanding belts where awesome and the leather belt while I dont think may he top tier stuff is still very very good. The only thing I can thing of that is a negative is I now have bald spots all over my arm.I would like to make a note. To not.stretch the belt befor you try to put it on! Or dont but as much force as I did to do it lol... I'm a pretty strong guy and I put a lot of force into it and I think it was fixing to give before I stopped lol.. but because nen i didnt even check befor hand the belt is now too long for the sander for harbor fright. Injust ran some electrical tape around the top idle pulley to compensate for the slack.. it's still a little lose but works great as you can see in the pictures...

Belts grind well and track smoothly. The strop is smooth and of even thickness, works well. If it last for a while I’ll reorder the same one.

Read all -I ordered this set for my Harbor Freight (Central Mach.) 1x30 sander and all abrasive belts work very well and have held up to the sanding/sharpening I've done with them so far.I did experience some distortion of the leather stroping belt, however....So - I contacted Pro Sharpening Supply through my Amazon messaging and discussed the issue with an extremely helpful and pleasant fellah by the name of Jesse C. He informed me that the leather strop belt is made of natural material & thus can be subject to some occasional distortion. He assured me that Pro Sharpening Supply stands by their products and backs them up and they would be sending out a replacement strop immediately - free of charge - to boot!I am so very thrilled to be a customer of such an engaging and helpful company like Pro Sharpening Supply who honor their customers and back up their products. This day in age - such a company is becoming more and more difficult to find. I wish Amazon gave me a way to rate that part. I'd give 5 stars all the way.I will be recommending Jesse C. And Pro Sharpening Supply to all those I encounter who are in need of their products. Thanks again!

I've tried oil stones, lansky sharpeners, japanese water stones, etc. I could get very sharp knives with the water stones, but it took a very long time. This set showed up, started with the coarsest belt on my Delta 1x30 sander. two to three passes each side of the knife, then changed to a finer belt; worked my way up to 1000 grit. Ended with the leather.Incredibly sharp knife with a total time of about 5 minutes.Only thing to note is that the leather was a really tight fit on the sander. I had to loosen the tension wheel as far as it would go, then slowly work the belt on. Once on though, it tracked fine.I can't say anything yet to longevity or durability as I've only sharpened 3 knives so far.Overall highly recommended, sharp knives in no time!

This set is the easy way to get a super sharp glass smooth edge on a blade ! It’s unreal how well they work . I have used Whetstones and other various kitchen drawer sharpeners all my life (56 years) Never again . This is the trick to quick easy knife sharpening if you already have a 1”x30” sander .

So, I'm typically the type to send my knives off to a mail in sharpening service. I know little to nothing about putting a good edge on a knife. I recently went to Gatlinburg Tennessee and found a knife shop (Viking Blade Supply) where I took a class on knife making. It got me interested enough to try my hand at making a knife, so I bought some grinders and a blank and started at it. I wanted my first knife to have a great edge, but again, no clue how up to this point. So I started watching the tube and after a few videos and some calls to the knife shop I started on the edge to my new knife. I had picked up the HF 1x30 with the angle guides and found this sharpening belt kit to add to it. I followed the instructions, progressed through the grits, and finished with the strop for a burr free mirror polish on the edge. MY GOD! I clean shaved half my hand with a single pass! I couldn't believe I got a blade that sharp (and on the first attempt at that)! I'm sure I can improve on my technique, and improve my edges with time, but so far I'm more than impressed! I can't say enough good about this kit, especially for the price. I paid twice that to have a few knives sharpened with the mail in service and they weren't as sharp as my homemade. Will definitely be re-upping when these belts wear out.
