After reading some of the reviews, I wasn't sure if these would come with the cotter pin (shown in pics) or the hammer in pin (some reviews talked about). Mine came with the cotter pin. I prefer that. Very easy install. There will be no stress on the cotter pin, so I'm not worried about that. Yes, I bent the cotter pins. I chose not to use the little plastic "bumpers". Some of my trailer safety chain hooks wouldn't work with them on. I haven't tried them on all my trailers yet, but most seem to work fine, unlike with just the Ford hitch holes. Crazy that Ford makes them like they do & doesn't have a solution. I chose black so they blend in. I know they probably rattle a bit, but I can't hear them in the cab at all. Good product.

These are a perfect fit for Ford F series truck with the small hitch holes for safety chains. Great construction and easy to install. I’ll most likely replace the cotter pins with a linch pin. Taking a star off for the crappy cotter pin.

Nice but give me larger caughter pins. These are removed after towing and I took the little pins they give you and threw them out. Give me larger pins that are simple to remove. Thats why you get a 3 star!!
