Don't know what to say, got here fast they appear to be real stainless steel and got my job moving right along. I think then will lets plenty long for what I am doing, (Waste Oil/Diesel Transfering).

After opening up the package for these strainers I noticed one had a slight rattle. Looking over the strainer there was a loose piece of wire wedged between the coarse and fine mesh layers. This would cause a great deal of damage if it made its way to the pump, which is exactly what this product it supposed to prevent. The other strainer did not have this issue, so hopefully this is just a one time QC issue. Other than this issue, the strainers are well built and have a coarse supporting mesh with a finer mesh over it. The finer mesh does well to better protect debris from making its way to the pump.

Many pump strainers have just a mesh that's 1/8 inch between wires. These have such inside as the "framework", but a much finer mesh over that to do much better filtering. That will prevent crud from getting into the pump, but if the crud eventually clogs the filter so no fluid can get thru you still have a problem. So it needs routine cleaning & checking before the pump gets ruined (depending on how "dirty" your source is). These can work for water pumping as well as other suggested pumps. Standard 1 inch pipe threads go on many pipes easily.
