These look great but the first set i got the packaging was crushed in the box and missing grommets along with batteries. The replacement had no batteries. It's a small thing but don't say they are there and 2 orders have none! If anyone buys one just know this ahead of time!

These hanging scales are solidly-built with a steel outer housing and both the included shackles and the “S†hooks are stout. The simple 3 buttons on the front are easy to operate and work as you would expect them to. I was surprised at how large these hanging scales are – roughly the same size as an iPhone 14 and about 2†thick. I got this for light-duty residential service – weighing suitcases, propane tanks, occasional fish, etc. – rather than for commercial service, so I cannot comment on whether it truly measures up to the stated 660 lbs. I used a heavy-duty carabiner (not included) to hang the scale from the steel storage racks in my garage. I tested the scales by weighing one of my propane tanks and comparing that to the weight-reading on our bathroom scale. The hanging scale read 31.86 lbs while the bathroom scale registered 32.0 lbs – essentially equal. Note that propane tanks are typically stamped with their empty weight; in my case that is 16.6 lbs (see photo), so the hanging scale is indicating that the tank contains 15.26 lbs of propane vs the nominal 15 lbs it is supposed to have when full. My only complaint is that the bluish display screen has rather poor contrast, making it difficult to read (and to photograph). I also think it would be nice if they offered these as a single unit (vs. a two-pack) for a reduced price.

I didn't have anything very heavy to work with, but my partially empty propane tank was enough to prove both scales are closely calibrated and very repeatable, returning exactly the same weight over multiple readings. The instructions are not clear on how the Hold/Tare button works, but it's pretty intuitive: give it a quick tap to zero the scale (set the tare weight), or give it a long press to turn on/off the hold feature. When on, keeping a static weight for about 1 second will cause the scale to lock/hold that weight on the display. I really wish it had a beep to let you know it locked for when you can't see the display to confirm. And seeing the display can easily be a problem as it washes out if looking down at it from above (the best viewing angle is looking up from below). I found it weird that the batteries came pre-installed even though the packaging had spots for them...luckily they weren't dead on arrival.
