I use these with uv25X4 and they are dinomite I can hit repeaters at 2 miles, 18 miles, 25 miles away no problem. I can talk radio to radio at 18 miles with a uv82hp handheld nobody would believe it thought I was using a big radio. I have 3 on my go bag one on a packet radio other 2 one on qyt 8600 other on a tyt9800All of them work great. No problem with any of them. I like the quality they are a good buy. I have one of the btech copies and it works as good as the real thing. The 18 inch baofeng model is good but not as good as the longer one. They are almost as good folded as they are full length. 73s allKK70AV

I used it for the radio and communication. Both were extremely reliable and did the job. I was able to reach my teammates and reach command that was more than 2 football fields away. If you need range because the baofeng extended antenna get's in the way, then this item is the way to go.

The base on this antenna is very wide and the SMA fitting does not extend very far past the base. Which makes absolute sense because it's such a massively long and heavy antenna. However, if the antenna mount on your radio is narrow or deeply recessed, it will not work on your radio. It works on a few of my radios. It fits the AnyTone AT-D878 just fine, and the added length does increase the gain better than a simple rubber duck. It also fits Baofeng UV-5R's which is probably the radio it's more designed for. However, it does not fit a BTECH UV-PRO. Which was, unfortunately, the radio I bought it for. Owell, it still works fine on the radios it fits.

I have not done any scientific tests but these antennas do seem to improve range and transmission clarity on GMRS. I can say with certainty that these are an improvement over the antennas that come stock with the Baofeng UV-5R gmrs.The antenna works while folded or unfolded. I do notice an improvement in range when the antenna is fully unfolded.The biggest advantage I have found to these antennas is that I can stick the radio in my car door cup holder and extend the antenna out of the window and I get far better range than with my antenna inside of the vehicle. The flexibility of this antenna is the only thing that makes this possible.Overall I am happy with my purchase and I ended up purchasing a set of these for two other people in my family who also use GMRS.I have folded and unfolded this antenna hundreds of times at this point and stuck it out of a car window and the antenna has suffered no damage or noticeable wear.For the price these are seem to be a great value and if you are having trouble with range in your area are worth a try.

I’ve bought two of these 2 packs and 3 of the 4 work awesome. On the other hand one works in the aspect of an antenna but it is to weak and does not hold itself up. This causes the antenna to flop over when unfolded.

The antenna that comes with the radios won't hit my nearest repeater much less give me a variety. This hits the repeater 15 miles away that covers the east coast on 1.25 m so I couldn't be happier. Was listening to a net that had check ins from AZ to Scotland on my little Baofung uv 5 rm!
