Works very well with my car also has a seatbelt cutter and a way to break open the window with the tip if necessary in an accident. I'm a disabled veteran and this really helps me out a lot getting in and out of my vehicle. Thank you so much I deeply appreciate it

I have great hopes for these two assist me and getting in and out of the car. They seem very sturdy and I like that there was two of them for the price of one. It appears to be a good purchase. They do fit the hole in my Toyota 4runner very nicely.

I ordered this set up gripes to enable getting in/ out of our Ford Escape. However, they don’t fit, they are too large. I will give them away yo someone else that can use them. They do appear solid and easy to use.

We have been using a similar handle in our truck to help my husband with another place to hold onto when getting in out out. This handle does a variety of other things, that our old one does not, besides the being an aid handle, it has claims to be a seat belt cutting aide and can break a window. Since I am not going to test either one of those things on my vehicles, I can not attest to the efficiency of those tasks. This tool is covered with a rubbery type grip, which seems to me would get dirty fast, but could be wiped down. The tool is also a lot bigger than the one we have now, but having more than one will be good so we will not have to transfer the tool to what ever car is being used, each one will have its own tool. This tool is two plastic pieces screwed together with a metal shaft and a tiny portion of a razor blade in the seat belt cutting area. The plastic pieces are screwed together. The plastic does seem like the type that might crack, chip or break if dropped, so I would be careful using it. The handle with webbing to be used on the window frame has really helped, and are grateful to have this additional tool for my husband to use for support.

I bought this multitool kit to replace an old window-breaking hammer (emergency tool thingy) that I recently lost. While I'm not breaking a car window to test it, I can say it feels sturdy and the handle is much better ergonomically than most of these types of tools. I did test the seatbelt cutter on some cardboard and it worked well.I tried the "auto cane" handle feature in the door hook of my compact SUV, and it felt really stable and strong. Having been the caretaker to an elderly family member with a back injury, I wish I'd had one of these years ago! This handle is just way better placement than grabbing onto doors for stability (that move!) or the overhead handle inside the car. It was easy to put into the door hook and just took a little jiggling to remove.Lastly, the canvas strap with a griping handle is very well made — all the seams are reinforced, and the plastic handle itself has a solid "stopper" inside, preventing it from sliding along the strapping. It feels like it might be a solid metal tube inside the handle? See pics. It's also not just a loop, it's a figure 8 which ads to its stability. See pics. I might use it to carry my laundry basket, TBH.

Whoever said that your elderly part of life could be called “golden years” was not old.You make noises getting up (or down) and body areas ache that never did before. Injuries I laughed off in my 20s are coming back to haunt me.And getting out of a car can be something of a chore. My father had one of these and after he passed I didn't take it with me. I figured, “why should I?”.Now I know why. Getting out of my vehicle, which sets high, was no problem until I hit my mid 60s and developed hip issues. This nifty device helps me to get out of my vehicle without having to place my hand on hot metal frames (something you become accustomed to in the south). You merely put the hook (dad called it a “bird’s beak”) into the door latch mechanism and use the handle as leverage. The tip can also be used as a glass breaker should you get trapped in your vehicle and the included blade will, allegedly, cut through a seatbelt (I say allegedly because those belts are tougher than they look).Good thing they put a removable cover over that pointy end, poking yourself by accident can pierce skin. These are sufficiently large that just about anybody can use one and they seem sturdy enough to handle just about any stress a larger person might put on them. However, do remember this (something dad occasionally forgot) - remove the device BEFORE closing the door! It can and will damage a car door if you leave it in there while slamming the door shut. Now on to that strap. Best of intentions marred by unintentional results.Designed to loop around your car’s window frame, it’s intended to help you out by putting stress on the frame.Hmmmm, let’s see how that can fail. First, it can merely slide back and forth on that frame. I could see no way of locking it, nor is there any anti-slip padding in place.Oh, and as you’re tugging on it for assistance, the door comes swinging violently in on your legs. As my father found out the hard way when the VA gave him a similar one.Door jamb hooks - good. Assistance handle - not so much. But, there is no arguing with the price - $10 for 2 of these plus the assistance do-hickey. You can’t get one hook for that price in big-box stores so you’d better grab on to these while you can.
