We needed to replace an amber retainer which had burned through after several years of use. The brick and mortar store where we had previously purchased retainers had gone out of business during the pandemic so we were at a loss as to where we might locate replacements.I found these retainers on Amazon. The price was right, so I went ahead and ordered them. The order arrived a day late but that was okay. We installed one from the package and found it is of better quality, only time and usage will tell for sure if that is correct, but it fits better than the one it replaced, it even locked in place, so it doesn't move about when stirring the fire or adding firewood.

These fit perfectly on our fireplace log grate! I needed them to hold kindling under bigger logs without falling through the log grate and they work perfectly! We’ve burned several fires since placing them in & they’re perfect!

not as thick guage as i would think, but comes with 2 pcs so i use both at same time. should last a long time now for sure. i use it for a stick burner barrel smoker
