It is what it is, shellac glue for instrument pad replacement. I haven't used it before so I may be inexperienced but it seemed like it was difficult to heat up consistently. I would often have to heat it up for about 10 seconds, then apply a bit of shellac to the pad, then reheat again for what seemed like too long (another 10-20 seconds), and then repeat. But it worked/works so I have no clue if that's normal or not.

The shellac sticks came in a strong cardboard tube and there was no obvious damage to the shipping tube. However, the larger stick was broken into 2 pieces and the smaller stick broken into 3 pieces. Also, the smaller stick is not that much smaller than the larger. The picture on Amazon makes it look much skinnier than the larger. That might matter if you are, like me, trying to glue a very small pad.

Works like shellac should! No complaints at all. As another reviewer noted, the packaging is excellent: wrapped in foam, in a tube, in more foam, in a larger tube. Yet still the sticks break, but really this is to be expected. Small, highly brittle items shipped via the USPS. In my case across the country. Minor breakage is totally normal and totally forgivable. It does not affect the usage at all for me. If you must have absolutely unbroken sticks for some reason then you probably should shop locally. Both sticks are the same size, the picture in the description is both a close up and a wide angle. Again, it's fine shellac, don't hesitate.

These arrived broken in half but that doesn't bother me a bit - I'd probably break 'em in half for storage anyway. It's a very light, brittle, material. Very nice blonde color.
