Got these mainly for my wife to use for making "sun" tea. She typically uses plastic bottles--which probably are not a great idea--so these glass containers should be much better. Made first batch last night, placing tea bags inside the filter. Worked great. The filter looks to be stainless steel, and simply drops inside the bottles (has silicone seal around lip). The plastic lids also have silicone seals, and work well. The bottles hold 64oz right to the top, so realistically more like 56oz (7cups) of usable capacity. Note that because of the size and being glass, they are fairly heavy when filled up. Bottom line: very pleased with these pitchers, expecting them to get a good deal of use.I will also note that there is a (rotating) ring on the lids, right behind the spout. Not sure exactly what the purpose is? Could be used to hang the lids from hooks, I suppose, but not really sure why provided.

The jars and tops appear well made and don't appear to leak. I was able to make ice coffee using the filter, but the items did not come with any instructions! Instructions on ratios, timing, cleaning would have been very helpful.One more negative, the box was supposed to contain two brushes to clean the filter. Mine came with only one brush which was damaged and not long enough to reach the bottom of the filter.So, two negatives, no instructions and no usable brush, made this purchase unsatisfactory.
