Product Description

AD-net’s AN-FM-PCM02/GETH-M Fiber Optic Multiplexers offer a low-cost solution for extending limited reach POTS RJ-11 copper telephone lines to fiber optical distances of over 11.4 miles using Single Mode - SM type optical fibers and 0.62 miles using Multimode (Multi Mode - MM) fibers. Besides extending 2 telephone lines over the same fiber, these multiplexers also carry 1 Gigabit Autosensing Ethernet RJ-45 network port, which offers even more effective re-use of fiber cables.

Even more importantly, – besides the extension, which more often than not, happens outdoors, AD-net’s Phone over Fiber extenders solves the problem of lighting protection for your home. Lengthy copper cables, installed outdoors, are prone to attracting lightning, and this can damage electrical equipment in your homes.

Garage/shop is 300+ feet from house. All phone and DSL enter at the shop. I had taken another lightning strike that took out one phone, one network switch and house alarm module. It was the second strike. No more.Ran some single mode glass between the house and the shop and now have both phone and 1g network at the house. I tried doing the whole IP phone ATAs and setting up SIP, to get phone over IP. What a waste of time.If you need to send phone and 1 gig network a long way, this IS the solutions. Don't waste your time on anything else!

These devices worked great. They were just plug and play. I hooked everything up and there were no complications. Im even going through a PBX system at the end point. I will be buying an extra set just to have on hand, incase these get hit by lightning or something.
