Hooked it up to a lawn mower battery and T post, then to my fence (it comes with everything you need connection wise for braided electric) and needless to say, my horses stay very clear of the area! My cheapo electric voltage tester says 7,000v (that’s the maximum on the tester) it seems like a VERY good shock, you can hear it when something touches the wire! Overall, I’d say this is a very good charger!

The connectors are cheap as is the fence itself. It does output voltage though. Don't expect a Gallagher like device at this price point.

I have a hobby farm with 2 horses and an electric wire fence all around the pastures. My existing power supply is getting on in age so I purchased this as a backup. It feels quite a bit lighter in weight than my current one. I suppose that's not necessarily an issue, but I do wonder what's inside and how it's generating that type of voltage. The connection points work fine. It appears that the actual product listing has changed since i purchased mine. Mine does not have an internal battery or solar panel with it. Mine also states that it's good for 6.32 miles.

We are installing our fence around a large garden area this early spring, so I got this unit to keep out raccoons, rabbits, coyotes and deer which have been problems in the past. The unit powers up fine and my voltmeter shows the correct output voltage. The unit looks robust, waterproof and well made. I don't see any issues with it, but we haven't installed it yet (will be another couple of months before we install the new fencing) and let it run 24/7.I think it's fine, I just don't know what the long-term longevity of this will be. But at least initially, it is working as intended. For the price, I think it's reasonable, again, providing it works reliably long-term. Once installed, if we have issues with this unit, I will update my review as needed.

You get what you pay for on this, yes it works but is cheaply made, and I don’t see it surviving in extreme weather for too long. If this is all your budget can afford it does get the job done.

This charger was exactly what I needed for my portable electric fence. Distributes charge efficiently and easily throughout the strand. Easy to use and well built with a good, hard plastic casing. Connecting wires are good quality. Easily comparable to what I have found at my local feed store.

This charger really packs a kick! The display registered 12.3 kV when I fired it up. When I tested the voltage at the end of the fence power line, the tester popped as well as lit up all the LEDs. This lightweight and compact unit packs a much bigger charge than my previous, bulkier and heavier charging unit.I was at first skeptical that a 12 v DC input could do the job, the the circuitry in this thing definitely makes up for it. I really like the option I have to hook it up to a 12v battery (attachment cables are provided) for when the power is out, due to an ice storm, or whatever, and I can still keep the fence electrified and my animals safe.

I have not had a chance to install the unit. It looks durable and of decent quality. The unit should charge up to 6.32 miles of fencing. It looks easy to install.
