Works great for electric fencing, can also be used to connect other string, rope , etc. Would NOT use for regular electric wiring !

12.5ga lead in wire just barely works in this nut but it works well so far. The connection appears good and time will tell about the longevity of this product. So far, so good !

Used to splice together an underground cable to the hotwire on a horse stall. Works great.

These make working on electric fence so much easier instead of having to wrap wires. I wish we had had them earlier.

Pretty sure that I'm loosing 1 to 2 amps at each split bolt. I have them as tight as I think the threads can take. Maybe I should have tried crushing the high tensile wire to increase surface area. (But that is a bad idea for other reasons.) I have a 2 amp drain on the eastern fence (most of which is less than a day old and there are two split bolts on it.) On the western fence there are five or six and an 8 amp drain.I made these observations using the Gallagher G50905 (Fence Volt / Current Meter and Fault Finder)I will be purchasing the proper tool (to make round crimps) for tap crimps and see if the amp drop goes away.
