I think the strips worked fine for well shocking. Showed I used enough chlorine and showed when chlorine was cleared from the system. Color differences can be subtle but it did what I needed.

These chlorine test strips are easy to use. They appear to be roughly accurate in that they generally indicate the chlorine concentration we expect. For example, a solution prepared to be at about 200 ppm hypochlorous acid does, in fact, result in a test strip reading of around that number based on the test strips' legend. However, we have not conducted analytic chemistry tests to confirm the sensitivity or specificity of the test strips. They were favorably priced in 2021 and appear to serve their purpose for a crude reading of free chlorine.

These work ok for my application testing chlorine concentration in 275 gallon emergency water supply totes. Color indication could be a bit brighter but still do the job

I didn’t know the actual volume of our well. We are the third owner so I had to estimate everything by using these strips I could be sure I hit the sanitizer level I wanted of 100ppm. I used a well kit that has pellets and granular chlorine and that got me to around 25 but the color was almost 50 so I added an additional 2 quarts of chlorine liquid bleach circulated that through the well and house plumbing and tested the house again and I was at a very solid 100 ppm. We let that sit for about 20 hrs then started the flushing process. These also help you know when the chlorine is gone. I Don’t have a great sense of smell so these are a big help to be sure the chlorine isn’t still to high. If you don’t want to do all the math involved this is a simple way to make sure you have put enough sanitizer in your well and with 200 strips you can easily test all the locations to be sure it’s all out of your pipes.

All test strips say I have no chlorine in my water, which is false. As a test to prove the horrendous inaccuracy of the strips I put a strip in a mix of 50% chlorine and water, still says 0. Then I put it in straight chlorine, still says 0. What a joke. Shame on whoever is responsible for this. What if people believe these results and drink chlorinated water?

Bought these because of the great price. Compared to other brands, the colour scale is not great. The colours for the different ppms are to close together. Pink, more pink, darker pink, purple etc. Other brands have more distinct colour so you can asses the chlorine levels way better. Overall, not bad but I don't think I'll buy these again.
