I can always use a set like this, but I needed eight #8-32 X 3/8 long machine screws and after seeing what just one machine screw without nut or washer sells for in a hardware store, had to go with this set.

REVIEW: HELIFOUNER 240 Pieces #2-56 Phillips Countersunk Head Machine Screws Nuts Assortment Kit, Coarse Thread, Fully Machine Threaded, 304 Stainless SteelWow, these screws are small. I am glad they were shipped in the case, enclosed in individual plastic bags. It would have been a complete mess if they had been intermixed.They are made of 304 stainless steel, which is fairly hard and resistant to rust and oxidation, which is a real benefit. The design of this set of screws is a countersunk screw. The product page says they are course threaded but they look like finer threads to me.The screw heads are Phillips and are not very deep, but they are defined. It may be difficult to keep the screwdriver head in the screw slot. I would rather have seen a hex or a Torx because they work so much better. The heads are pretty small and thin. I'm not sure those would have fit.On the product page they show the size and placement label on the inside lid of the box, which helps to identify the placement and size of each screw. It is, in fact, on the outside of the box, which requires lowering or closing the box to know what is where. I don't like just one label and especially that they show one thing and send another.The case the screws came in is pretty flimsy and very thin. I used several of the screws today and the locking tab is already broken. Now I have to put a strong rubber band around it just so they don't fall out all over the place.

First off, be sure that you look at the size before you order, these are #2 screws. They are exactly what I needed to attach brackets and a board to an exterior box. They were the perfect diameter and being stainless, were the perfect choice for a box that will be outside.I also appreciate all the different lengths. I know you can cut screws down, but sometimes it is nice to not have to. My only compliant would be that I wish it came with more nuts, but it is very clear how many are included, but it would have been nice.

240 pieces doesn't sound like a lot until this box is on your doorstep. I'm not saying it's too heavy to pick up, just that it's heavier than I expected a container of screws, nuts, and washers to be. I like the fact that all of them are the same size, so I can keep this container separated from the rest of my small hardware and always know I can find a matching set. The steel seems good, but these are small enough that they shouldn't be bearing the kind of load that might make them snap in the first place. Great for little tasks around the house -- very satisfied.
