It does work for smaller cabinets and maybe interior doors. Won't work for exterior doors as there's not enough power in the spring and they aren't very asthetically pleasing. Spring is decent quality metal tho and won't break or bend easily

I sourced these spring door closers because a hinge-mounted door closer on a cellar door failed after 15 years. It just snapped one day and now we have to remember to pull that door closed.This new device is superior to the old one. First., you do NOT need to pull the hinge pin from a door to mount a closer spring. If you ever had to pull hinge pins from a 25-year-old door, you know exactly what I am saying here.With the new door closer you only need to attach a support bracket to the door frame or door with two woodscrews. I have solid oak doors, so I chose to mount the support on the stained pine door frame. Next place a small plastic protective sheet on the door and wall or door frame where the spring rollers will touch. You pull a plastic film from the sheet to expose an adhesive. The last step is to open the spring and slide it onto the support bracket. WEAR GLOVES when placing the spring in case it tries to bite you! Once that is done your door will close itself.The support is metal (aluminum, I think), the spring carbon steel, both should last almost forever. I suspect that plastic protective patch might eventually wear out and need to be replaced. But the spring ends have plastic rollers on them which might mean they can last almost forever, too.

Easy to install and looks good, not too bulky. I have a unique door that doesn't latch when you close it. So my cats can just push it open to come in. Only problem is that they never close the door. Now I don't have to worry about that. It works great and now my cats can come in and the door won't stay open.

This works well, but with my kids and other adults who are too rough on stuff, I'm not sure how long it will last. I got this for an upstairs bathroom that everyone refused to close the door. I'm hoping it will help with a few issues. So far it is holding up, but it's only been up a couple months. I will re-review if it breaks or anything within the first year.

This door closer thingy has made such a huge difference for us! We live with a few pets, all of which like to sneak into the basement (via the mudroom doors, which someone always seems to be leaving opened). Since Installing this, the number of sneak attempts has decreased drastically, and given us so much more peace of mind!Set up was a breeze, although I recommend making sure you read over all the instructions first… Or, at least, going over the pictures just like I did. I like how you can adjust the tension, and our door is pretty lightweight And doesn’t really reach the 140 pound limit. All in all, this was a great product for us.

The instructions are a little confusing but installation is really simple once you get the device out of the box and orientated. It works off a very simple principle and I like that it can be adjusted so easily. This is an affordable solution to creating your own closing doors at home which is pretty cool if you ask me. Love it!

This automatic door closer from Robinsontool is available in black or white color. This closer can handle doors up to 140 lbs which should be adequate for modern household doors but maybe inadequate for heavier doors. This door closer comes in a nicer package then I had expected. The installation is straight forward but do be aware that the metal pad may be a bit of a pain if your door isn't perfectly flat. For my light interior door, this closer works okay but you may wish to replace some of the shorter screws to increase durability. The current price of $27 CAD is reasonable.
