I’ve a small 4WCamper with a fixed 85w rooftop solar and backcountry a lot. I purchased a 200w portable so I could seek shade with the camper and put the portable in sun. I also started inverting AC power to charge my eBike. The 85w would get me back to 100%SOC but only with perfect full sun conditions. My existing controller wouldn’t handle the new 200w panel and also had dissimilar sizes too. So,.. wired an SAE exterior plug directly to the battery and use this controller in-line with the 200w portable panel. Because this charger and panel are independent from my camper, they can also be used to charge my boat (24v) and boat/truck (12v) starter batteries. I can also use the exterior SAE plug to inflate tires, or to inflate pontoon boats. It gives me much more flexibility than just being able to seek shade and recharge my eBike as I had originally set out to do. I suspect the reviewer who states inefficiently is placing the controller close to the panel instead of the battery and experiencing line drop? I have not experienced his concern and I’m in Montana too. Maybe his trial was on a smoke hazy day? My experienced efficiency is excellent.

Uses up to 2 amps to operate and the app is a little janky but it works.

This thing works great I have no qualms with it it charges everything from my 100ah battery all the way down to my 6ah battery I have 225 Watts running to it at 12v

I have one solar panel to keep my boat battery topped off, especially when hanging out with the motor off and the stereo and speaker amp running. I was always worried about killing my battery and wouldn't be able to get the boat started. This thing works like a charm and is super simple to install.

Tried every type of connection possible to 2 different battery types (12v deep cycle, and EGO 12v input inverter/charger).Absolutely does not work. Settings don’t allow you to adjust anything except battery type. So upset because it it such a hassle to return back to Amazon. $60 wasted basically.

I ordered the 20amp controller with Bluetooth connection because it is the only plug and play MPPT controller with Bluetooth connection that I could find. It also leaves me some room to add a 40-60watt panel in the future. The Bluetooth does not collect data if the app is not open and running or if you are outside of the connection range. So while testing on a July summer day with clear sky and 97degree temps I would lose connection anytime I came inside my house or if I left the app. So if you are buying this because you expect it to collect data over a full day then think again because it does not work that way.The app will be helpful for me when camping with my set up so that I can be in the shade and check on my charge system remotely.I like that it is plug and play ready with SAE connections and extra leads and SAE connectors in the box! I hooked up an Ecoflo 160watt panel, no electrical load, rated at the industry standard 70% efficiency with 19v and 9amps max. I saw a consistent 6.7amps and I will be testing again while under electrical load to see if that makes a difference. Instructions were straight forward and great. The physical operations were intuitive and easy to use without needing the owners manual.I will need to find a way to elevate this off the ground while keeping it away from direct contact with the solar panel to avoid overheating the controller. The controller does get extremely hot and the SEA connectors are hard wired backwards but that is not that big of a deal. Now if I suspected voltage drop I would need to measure the at the power source and then again at the battery terminals

My Victron suddenly decided to turn itself off. So I tried to get it to turn back on, no luck thus far. So I tested my solar panels to see if their output was sufficient. It was so I purchased this to keep my refrigerator operational, until I can get the Victron working again.
