I got this to try my hand and deep frying our turkey for Thanksgiving. It worked out great! Everyone liked it so much, we used it a month later to deep fry two chickens for Christmas. I had no issues with assembly or performance. Just make sure you allot for about an hour to heat up your oil.

Nice setup to get started with. The only feature I wish it had was a push-button type ignition. It does have a chain for lighting with a match, but it can get pretty warm from preheating your oil and cooking. I always turn the burner off completely when I am putting my food in the oil so relighting afterward is an annoyance. Other than that works great. Gets up to temp nicely and maintains a steady cooking temp. Had a magnificent turkey for Thanksgiving and I have used it for frying french fries, chicken wings, and other foods without any other issues. The pot is a good size and the lid fits well. I also like that it has a hanger for the basket so you can drain the excess oil off your food before transferring it to your serving tray. The one other complaint that I have which seems to be a common thing with all the deep fryers of this style I looked at, is that if you use the thermometer, the lid doesn't really close and lets a ton of heat escape. I could just use a dremel and cut out a U shape, but I would they would design these with lids that worked better with a thermometer especially when cooking with oil. Even when you have the oil at the right depth, oil still spatters without the lid on so not using the lid isn't really a safe option.

This replaced a similar fryer. We used to fry our thanksgiving turkey and it turned out great. Easy to use. Fits into our outdoor kitchen nicely. Good quality.

I bought this to use for waterbath canning, it's absolutely perfect, my son however planned a crayfish boil with his friends and it worked perfectly and quickly

Used it for the first time on Thanksgiving day. Our Turkey turned out perfect. The quality of the product is excellent. Would definitely recommend.
