I am sure these can be used for packs and all kinds of bags, but i want them to keep the strap on my hats snug. I have several, stetson, aussie, and cowboy hats and they usually come with a wooden bead or just a know in the leather strap. Those are useless. I get these slides - they are a little tight to get the straps thru the hole, but once in place they are perfect. The slide up and down easily, making sure you hat stays on your head. And with some of the coastal storms we get in southern Louisiana, that it doing a good thing.

Overall, nice product, but look for something a bit larger for paracord, because it's quite a squeeze getting two pieces through it and then it won't slide easily, even when the button is pressed. Would work fine if the inner strands were removed from the paracord though.

My son has a tiny waste and issues tying drawstrings on pants so they are on his pants to hold them snug around his waste. Some ties are fatter tho, so hopefully they were the round but bigger size.Thanks

But I bought a bunch of black washers assorted sizes that work as well - and 10% as attention grabbing. (I like the functional minimum sweet point in design - obsessively.)

I am completely satisfied with these and so far they are working perfectly. Came in a useful plastic case. Use with cord or a shoe lace works great as well. When depressed slide easily to tighten or loosen. No complaints and no idea how long they will last but will likely purchase again when needed. Will update at a later date if there is any issue with them.

For shoe laces, these can be very convenient. However, if you keep the original laces, you will still have to tie them. Plus, some footwear will not work with shorter laces, depending on how much length is required to open the footwear enough to put your foot in.I'm also using this for chinstraps for certain hats (or, in my case, back of the head straps!).Just press the spring loaded button and laces can be tightened or loosened. Actually, you don't need to press the button to tighten.

Smaller than I thought, a bit hard to insert 2 medium size laces, and one was broken on arrival. But they work, and the quantity is very good for the price so it makes for the one broken. I will update on durability.

Used one of these on my hat in Tanzania while climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Works well. Would recommend.
