I initially thought I had been shipped a bad part, but it was installation error. Once properly installed, my Brother printer status page reported that it was seeing all 512 MB of RAM (256 MB internal + 256 MB upgrade).I'm very happy with it and I paid 25% of what I've seen the same upgrade go for elsewhere.
