I've had one of these for over 5 years, just bought a second one. I love that these are all metal housing, swivel parts, etc. Very sturdy. I tried a longer plastic one for twice the price, it lasted 2 years before the plastic parts broke and it stopped ratcheting. This metal one is still going strong, never had a single issue with it. The ratchet is easy to use (not finicky, always clicks the way I want it to when tugging on the cord) and reliable. On top of all this, these are only 1/2 the price of the crappy plastic cord reels. I may buy a third one soon...highly recommend.

This one has a better ball stop on it. It has a set screw instead of just relying on a tight fit.

Love this. Use it to extend my Miele vacuum all over my condo. Previously I had a long tangled extension cord I could never be bothered to wind up after use. Strong, well made. Cannot recommend enough. It’s industrial but not large or that heavy.

I originally purchased for the size and color that would work in my shop. I have purchased larger brand retractable cord reels and this one functioned better. The retraction spring is strong and the cord never tangles, with plenty of room inside the unit for it to spin around the wheel. Installation was very easy, just an eye screw in the ceiling and hang.I purchased two. I experienced a manufacturing defect with one of the purchases, but the customer service was quick to respond and sent out a new one immediately. They were a pleasure to deal with.

My use is different. We have a venue called the boom boom room and I made four large chandeliers. It’s a dinner theater. When people eat dinner we lower the lights using a electric garage wench. And when the show starts we raise them to get them out of the way of the lights and spots.I needed these to retract and extend back and fourth. So every weekend and every week we do that raise and lower so four times a week now for a year and 3/4. So far they still extend and retract.I had to spray paint mine black. Also. I had to open mine up and take out the part that keeps the cable extended as I need mine to always want to retract.I cant speak to the quality or cable or power as the chandeliers use about ten 4 watt led bulbs. And I did have to modify mine.So at the same point ine I got two from another brand. They are 20 amps. this is a lot less. Make shure you know how many apps you need. Lighting rigs are hungry I need 4 20 Pam circuts for one trus with 15 lights. paid 138 and now they are 250. Wow! It has a circut breaking on them. And they have tripped so I have to climb on a ladder. And it’s anoying. Id rather the fuse box blows. And it has a light up plug. But good lord it is five times the price! So I’m getting another of these.Make sure it uses the amps you need to draw.

Does everything expected. Solid, good looking reel. I have run several high draw tools on it and it performs well. Locks well ever couple feet. Retracts well, but not overly fast.

This item states that it is white in color. However, when it arrived, it was gray. don’t expect it to be the correct color when you order it.
