Product Description

Advantage:

  • High quality metal material, small size, high torque;
  • Excellent thermal conductivity, high hardness and anti-friction, very small sound;
  • High quality motor with a long lift about 1000 hours;
  • The new Hall encoder has a cover to prevent dust, durable and not easy to wear;
detailed description

Characteristics:

  • The rear of the motor is equipped with a dual channel Holzer effect encoder, AB dual output, single circuit per cycle pulse 12PPR, double down the road, a total output of 48CPR. Phase difference 90 degrees.
  • The two-channel Hall effect encoder is used to sense the rotation of a magnetic disk on a rear protrusion of the motor shaft. The quadrature encoder provides a resolution of 48counts per revolution of the motor shaft.
  • To compute the counts per revolution of the gearbox output, multiply the gear ratio by 48.

Sweet tips:

  1. 1.Be sure to keep the wiring connection correct before Working;
  2. 2.Be sure to keep the motor stopped before change the CCW/CW direction; Or the motor will be burned!!!
gearmotor

Application:

  • Smart balance car, rc car model, robot;
  • smart home appliance,camera swing, tape machine;
  • Custom Servo, Arduino and 3D Printers,DIY Engine Toy;
  • electric toothbrush, medical equipment, laboratory equipment, etc.

I needed a gearmotor with positional feedback for an automated roller blinds project, so I bought one of these motors for testing. The motor works, and it's performing at an acceptable level. I was able to successfully read positional feedback with a micro-controller. The noise level is somewhat normal for a DC motor of its kind, not silent but not loud. I'd say it's similar to pololu's 25D LP 12V 33RPM gearmotor, but with 75% of the torque at any given current level.My test setup is pictured here. At zero load, the motor draws 12V 50-60mA. When hoisting the 361g measuring tape over a 48mm diameter wheel, it draws 12V 110-120mA. I'd estimate that it draws 12V 0.45A - 0.6A at the rated load in the description (4.5 kg*cm). It's not a bad idea to have a buck/boost converter with a current limiter set to ~0.45A, so that your motor won't burn itself out in case of a stall.

My oscilloscope showed the encoder output to be noisy and not at all a square wave. A and B outputs were 90 degrees out of phase, as they should be, but the signal had no sharp edges so it was useless.

Good motor, works as expected. I use it for my small robot. Encoder works fine too. Company provides a code for Arduino in C++, which handles encoder data and controls motor with motor class. This code contains PID controller lines, but I am not using this. I modified this code for my needs, but I did not change a core part about encoder which works fine. Finally: this is a good motor. It can be used to drive small robot. Maybe RPM is high for this, but it is acceptable for small carts.

bought 4, but 1 of them has wrong encoder output signal which has lower measurement than the others. It would be nice if quality assurance is better

Pretty robust shell and wiring allows to be installed with little concerned about tight spaces or being to rough while handling it with tools.

Was previously using just straight DC motors for an autonomous rover project and even when manipulating the DC signal with PWM pins, it would never turn consistently. So, I purchased this motor so I could count the number of steps to turn a perfect 90 degrees every time while also having relatively high rotational velocity when driving straight.I purchased the 150RPM one as I was not carrying very heavy loads and even so, it was still quite strong. I feel like the 150RPM version is a good balance if you're looking for both good strength and speed. Overall very happy with my purchase.
