at 78 years old and having moved 27 times thus lots of new window treatments, these are the worst. ordered the longer ones. they are thin and flimsy and both sprung when i opened them to 46 inches. tried 3 times. finally got one to stay at width but it sprung as soon as i put a sheer 63 inch curtain on it to see if the "look" was right.i'm only keeping it because at the $15 price it's more trouble to send back than to just trash it. but do NOT buy. you will be sorry. i have ordered a 1 inch diameter rod now that the curtains i really want to hang arrived today so i know the header will accommodate that size rod.would have given no stars if that were possible.

These are lightweight, super easy to install, and work as expected.

normal, regular old-fashioned tension bars without tricky expansion techniques and with end nubs that do not slide. don't mess with something that doesn't work! these do! my second order arrived with the ends bent. the company immediately replaced them. excellent.

These are the classic spring tension curtain rods. It's the step above the C shaped rods that have to be screwed in. All you have to do is unscrew it until it's the size of the window, and then a few more turns so it will have tension. It has plenty of tension, and I'm confident that it won't have any problems holding heavy curtains.
