These rings hold attachments firmly in place by gripping the shaft OD. Use them on unhardened shafts that have a hardness less than the hardness of the push ring. Metal must be soft enough for ring to form an interference grip to hold properly.
The Starlock Washers have teeth that dig into the shaft material, so expect minor scratching.

Bought these because I refused to pay $2.50 per washer at the dealer to install my Honda grille emblem.Pretty straight forward. Genuine Honda Emblem. Attaches to Genuine Honda grille or aftermarket grille. Copyright laws prevent aftermarket production of a copyrighted (trademarked?) emblem, so aftermarket grille manufacturers cannot produce the grille with emblem included. So... they make their grilles precisely ready to receive the OEM emblem. Honda uses 3mm starlock washers (2 required @ $2.50 each from the dealer). OEM emblem does not include the washers. You cannot get them at local hardware or big box store. Even tried chain auto parts stores. Only found the right washers at the dealer locally.285 pieces. Sizes I don't need right now, but might, included 50 of the size I do need. Obviously overkill, but for $12.99 beats paying $5 for 2 pieces and driving across town to get ripped off by dealer.Appears to be same fit/finish/quality as ones I did buy from dealer for a previous repair (which is why I know they charge $2.50 per washer).

Bought these to fix a Radio Flyer wagon and a handtruck. The largest size was still too small for both applications, but with a little persuasion using a pair of pliers I was able to get them to work. Overall satisfied.
