I am a firm believer that every product experience is different, this is just my own personal experience with this collar.We rescued a 7 year old German shepherd a little over 3 months ago and she has since gotten comfortable and tried showing she is alpha around the house. To some degree we chalked it up to her breed, but when having company over became difficult we decided to invest in this collar and oh golly did it work. A little too well! We only purchased with the intention of using sound and vibration, we have never even used the shock setting! I believe we only used the sound once and vibration twice and she did not like it. Yes, the collar did exactly as advertised as she quickly fell into line as what we needed her to do. At what cost though? She is fearful of the collar and afraid of whoever has the remote. She visibly looks sad whenever it is on. We do still plan on utilizing it AS NEEDED but we never have it on her for more than the duration that we have company. We also reward heavily after taking it off when she repeats the desired behavior.The setting options are very effective and all in all we do believe we got what we paid for.
