I received 2 spring loaded punches with 2 replacement tips, tightened them up, pushed them into the head of a square drive furniture screw, and both fired every time I activated them. Sometimes, cheap punches go wonky, and you really have to mess with them due to the mechanism being an asymmetrical and both a bit confusing and somewhat easy to foul so it stops working.I like having doubles, triples and even quadruples of some tools and this is one of them. I'll likely order another of this exact duo again later this month.

It does what it's supposed to do. Punctures, a whole, very convenient, no problem.

Used the punch and the first 15 to 20 punches worked fine, then it started missing every 3 or 4. After about 50 punches it would not longer work properly. Tried the second one thinking maybe I got a bad one and it didn't last as long as the first one. Also, noticed the tips are not hard at all and deformed after only about 25 punches. Wash punching into wood so nothing that should have caused this.

The price can't be beat but both were unreliable. After polishing the anvil and striker side of the punch both now operate as they should. I own a super nice Starret automatic center punch but unfortunately I keep misplacing it so I bought these "cheapos" so that I don't have to interrupt a project to search for it. For some reason these are always where they should be. They are well worth buying if you're willing to do little work.

I would not recommend this punch. The product is poor quality and both punches stopped working after a couple of light uses. It's as if the spring has lost all of its power. The price was good but overall disappointed in this purchase.
