These are good scales, especially for the money. I did have to trim a tiny bit around the inside of the main pivot screw where the blade rides. I was unable to tighten screw down to eliminate blade wobble until I trimmed counter sink hole a little. Besides that they fit perfectly, look great. They are definitely heavier and a little wider than oem. I would buy again.

These are great scales that fit my Benchmade Griptilian 550 perfectly.I carry this knife every day and it gets used often daily.Pros:The holes and cutout slots fit like the original scales so fitment is perfect.They have a bit of texture to them so they don't slip out of your hand, the original scales that come on these are slippery and I found myself dropping the knife often.They seem rugged so far, i have dropeed it and it hasnt chipped or broken yet.the look is good, they look like layered wood.cons:the scales were packed in some sort of oil in hte bag, it took a while to clean them off to install them. smelled chemical-ey.they are a bit thick, they are a mm or 2 thicker than the originals, i wish they were thinner. I may put them on the bench and sand them down thinner.they are heavier than the originals. likely due to thickness...shipping took nearly 2 weeks.all in all, great scales for the little money. I would buy again.

Was really skeptical but figured why not... for the money and could always return themTurns out the fit and finish is spot on and hardware / standoffs included! I couldn't be happier (maybe since my expectations were sooo low)Definitely worth the small cost - and arrived way faster than expected!

These scales prevent proper access to the axis lock. You could easily modify them, but as is there are some figment issues.

These scales fit perfectly, are made very well and feel solid, and look awesome. One thing i would improve would be to scallop out some material around the axis lock mechanism to make opening and closing the mechanism a little easier, but it is by no means a deal breaker. I would highly recommend these scales.For the gentlemen who left a one star review...the knife you have there is not a Benchmade 551. You should delete your review. That's all I am gonna say about that.

Clip screws don’t reach the thread barrels -so I’ll have to find longer screws.

Fits like a glove! Easy to install.I love it!The other reviewer that gave it a 1 star rating, his pictured knife is not a griptilian, that’s why it wouldn’t fit.
