Both of the pieces are sturdy and quite sharp. I keep one with my cross stitching projects and one with my sewing machine.

These are primo rippers, and pleasurable to look at, really stunning. They are also comfortable in your hand. So excellent for the task, but also surprisingly beautiful. Subtle heft in your hand.

Not sure about the quality of these. Maybe I got a lemon, but my small ripper came disassembled in the box. There isn’t any sort of markings or residue, as if it was never welded together at all. It does not stay in the slot so it can’t be used in any way. It just falls right back out. Super disappointed as I was looking forward to that one the most!The larger ripper seems good. It’s very sturdy and has a nice weight. Handle feels great in my hand. The spear seems firmly attached without any wiggle. However, the blade may be too large for most of my projects (it is bigger than the typical seam rippers I find in local stores), which is why I really wanted the small one.
