My wife is a retired elementary school teacher, but I didn’t get these to point at a chalkboard. I got these because 99% of the time when we buy milk or half and half in the grocery store, we can’t reach it. There’s usually one or two left, but they’re so far up there on the rack you can’t reach them, which of course, is why they’re still there. With this pointer and one small modification, I can easily reach up there and snag one.The pointer collapses and fits in my pocket, or my wife’s purse. I clipped a 1†wide binder clip to the end, and it works great for milk and half-and-half retrieval in supermarkets. It’s hilarious when I see people give up, and then I step in and use this to grab one for each of us.The pointer is very sturdy, and much thicker than your old TV antenna rabbit ears. The product page doesn’t list the diameters, so I took pictures of all the measurements.The foam handle is great. It’s a very grippy rubber, and stays on. The tip is a big chunk of hard felt, and I found that the binder clip can be slid up a bit to protect the tip while bouncing around in a bag. It would be perfect for whiteboard, chalkboard, giant screen TV, or any screen pointing.Hope this helps.

I obviously didn’t check the measurements. This monster is almost 8.5†- the width of a piece of paper. I’m sure that it won’t fit in my pocket as intended, and it’s so heavy if it did fit I’d probably want to add a belt! It does not extend or retract easily either.

I was messing around with these immediately upon getting them. Because let's face it, anything that wanders into a classroom will be broken by experts (students). As the telescoping feature, it is fairly stiff, which is useful, it means during a presentation, I can count on the pointer the entire time I am using it and then slowly push the pieces back to the storage size.But the white tips came out really easily. Which means that eventually those white tips will not be as useful. I did not see that these tips could be used with a touch screen, so I did not test that out but I also saw the tips are soft so that will be useful eventually. But watch out, tips will disappear.

I will be using this with my students to point on their computer screens so I do not need to lean over and get into their personal space, or increase the likelihood of catching an airborne illness. Additionally, if I am showing something on a large monitor to the entire classroom, I am further off to the side so as not obscure anybody's vision to the material projected/displayed.The end is large and visible. If it needs to more visible, it could always be painted or wrapped with a piece of colored vinyl tape (quality electrical tape may be best for longevity - the type wrapped around large wires that are all black in order to identify them at their connection points).My classroom might be considered a computer classroom where robotics is learned along with other technical programs. Since I have many posters on the walls showing student exemplars and diagrams, this is good for specifically indicating particular areas on a poster that would otherwise be difficult to reach over the computers and the table they are on to reach the wall (my computers are located on a bench that surrounds my room, with the students facing the wall and their screens facing inward toward the center. This offers good supervision, yet makes the bulletin board less accessible. This pointer will undoubtedly work well overcoming the distance issue.

Great set of two pointer sticks. It has a telescoping body that's rather long when fully extended. It feels sturdy even at its max length and doesn't bend nor warp. There is some friction when extending them but definitely not cumbersome. I think it does keep it rather strong and stays at the length you want it to be without accidentally extending or contracting.I love the fact that it comes in two as you can battle with another. I've had a few pointer fights so far and they really hold up. I know its not what its true intent is, but thought its helpful in letting y'all know its strong enough to survive fights.No complaints with this product, the only thing is that the rubber tip does come off easily but its simple enough to put back on.

One of the pointer tips is very dirty. Otherwise sturdy UPDATE: the company contacted and offered a full refund. Excellent customer service.

I ordered this item to enter a gate code without getting out of the car. I chose a four star rating because the tolerances between sections of the item are tight and difficult to extend and retract. Second, the white tip of the pointer fell out while removing the item from its packaging. That said, the pointers are heavy and made of sturdy materials. I used some adhesive to secure the tips to the body of the pointer. Also noteworthy is how sturdy the pointers feel even when fully extended. Very satisfied with the quality which seems in line with the price point.
