The thread on the top of the unit is a straight thread and requires many, many wraps of Teflon to seal. This unit has now been in operation for months in my pond and works very well. Extremely simple auto fill system.

I bought 2. First one wouldn't stop flowing water even when completely submerged. The second onw has a slow leak and will eventually overflow my container.
