I have to admit, I didn't have all that much faith in these paddle mounts. Mounting was easy for me...a person with limited tools and generally not super mechanically minded. I just snapped these on the paddle and held them in certain positions (glad i did otherwise i may have been poking holes in a perfectly good kayak only to find out something was in the way of the paddle!). I then marked the holes while holding the paddle holders where i finally decided they'd go and drilled the holes.I don't know how long they'll last before getting brittle and cracking but after using them yesterday, they are super handy. Nice to snap the paddle on and not have to worry about using a paddle leash (or use it), or balance the paddle across the cockpit. I'm pleased!

I should have went with a better brand. Unfortunately this is a case of "you get what you buy". The material feels cheap and not sturdy. 80% or more of the time my paddle doesn't stay seated in the holder.

The supplied hardware dosent last but add a washer on the back side and it’ll do. Some edges are a little sharp. Dose hold paddle very well though

This product is designed to hold a kayak paddle while out in the kayak. It does that perfectly. It holds nice and firm. I would not leave the paddle in the holder while transporting the kayak. It is not designed for that purpose.
