Material is thick and seems sturdy. Only issue I had was how it is assembled. The two pieces slide together, then are bolted on one end. It is not a fixed pivot point, which allows for some misalignment and looseness once assembled. It did fit a 3" tube using the provided clear grip piece of rubber, but I wouldn't chance this to hold lights that may be bumped or hit when on the trail.
