This doesn’t come with a sauna steam tent, which is needed. So you have to buy a tent separately or you can buy this to replace a steam unit that was bought bundled with a tent. It’s pretty easy to install they include tubes to attach the machine to the tent from the outside. They also include an essential oil/herbs box with a tube for the inside, which is nice. I do recommend going easy with essential oils. I would only put in 2-3 drops in total in the box added to some filtered water in the herb box. If you use fresh herbs, there is a slotted shelf for the herbs to be steamed. The herb box also helps diffuse the steam since it has vents on two sides. It takes about 15 minutes from turning on until there’s a good steam going. Once started, I read it’s recommended to start with 10-15 minute sessions (not more than 20 minutes from what I read) and taking a break if doing more than one session. It definitely gets you sweating and heart pumping (mine got in the 120s since I was wearing my Apple Watch). It feels just like being in a steam room. I put in a tall plastic stool topped with a towel. I used the towel to wipe off sweat and grimey dead skin cells which seem to slough off easily in such high humidity.I used filtered water, although they recommend distilled water in the machine. They include some descaler packets to clean the machine as needed. They also included a loofah, which is also a nice touch. Highly recommend!

This is a review, not an instruction post, but I feel compelled to point out some important things and share my experience using this machine for the first time. I tested it in my cold kitchen instead of a small portable sauna so I could keep an eye on it.NOTES:-- You will need to supply two AAA batteries for the remote control. Batteries are not included with the unit.-- You will also need distilled or filtered water to operate this so it won't get clogged (distilled is probably best).-- Much of the boiling tank AND the steam tubes get very hot, so don't touch them for at least 20-30 minutes after shutting it down, or longer if necessary.-- Best to keep pets & children & elderly away from all parts of this thing for their safety. My cats were curious, and I had to put them in another room so they wouldn't get burned from surprise hot water droplets or steam.Operation:I discovered it's important to read all the instructions and cautions you can find before using this, both on the included page and on the web page. This is basically a fancy electric teakettle with a remote and tubes. The instructions do need some improvements. The remote control is a great thing to use so you can avoid touching the hot unit to power it and change settings.I didn't have distilled water, so I used the cold filtered water from my fridge dispenser when I tested this. It took about 6 minutes to boil & generate steam. To begin, I connected everything and poured 2 liters of water in it, then plugged it in when I was ready.I set the power level at 9 (highest setting) and the timer for 30 minutes. The timer began immediately; it didn't pause to wait for the steam to start, which is how I know it took 6 minutes to boil. :)I turned it off when the timer said I was at the halfway point and waited for it to cool down completely so I could check how much water it used. The fan kept running while it was plugged in, which probably helps cool the unit a wee bit quicker. You can't see into it so I had to wait to take off the lid. It had used almost exactly 1/2 liter of water after 12 minutes of actual steaming, which I conservatively estimate is a little over one hour to use the 3 liters of water capacity, give or take. It's supposed to automatically shut off when there's no water to keep the unit from overheating, but I'm overly-paranoid about fire and didn't test that out.Overall, this is a decent electric steam generator. I'm not sure if it's the best value for what you get or not, as I have no prior experience and I don't know how long they're supposed to last.Even though there are a few questions I still have about it, as far as function goes I will rate it with 4 stars. If there are any unexpected changes as I put it to use, I'll come back here to update.I hope my experience helps.

I use this as a second unit to fill the steam sauna quicker. Yes, I am using two at once. Works well. I'm happy with it.

I liked that it definitely has enough power to generate enough steam to get a sweat going. I have been wanting one of these for a long time. I didn’t want to join a gym just for this commodity. The remote control and time are a great touch. I didn’t like using it in my bathroom because I felt like the AC ran extra long afterwards trying to compensate for all the steam. Which brings me to my one con… I wish it came with a tent.Other than that, the machine looks great, I think it’s a great deal and it could last a while if well taken care of. I found the instructions simple and straightforward and the pictures helped a lot.

The 3 Liter Sauna Steamer is an excellent replacement if you already have a sauna tent with a steamer that is not working. This unit comes without a Sauna Tenant, so remember you either have to purchase one separately or use the one you already have and replace the steamer with this one. The best feature about this steamer is the herbal box that sits on the floor of the steamer away from your feet. you can use it for essential oils and herbs like lemon and ginger. I think that is so awesome and relaxing way to enjoy your sauna experience. Another helpful feature is the stainless steel liner of the steamer, which has measurements so you know how much water you're putting in. please note that you should only use distilled water or pure water to fill your machine to avoid calcium buildup that comes with using tap water. you should always read the instruction manual because it's very helpful giving you the instructions for the steam generator and how to care for your machine. Taking care of tour steamer will help it last a long time for your satisfaction. I recommend this portable sauna steamer to anyone who would like to enjoy having steam treatments and a spa inspired experience at home. If you already have a sauna tent and need to replace the steamer or upgrade an older model, then try this one. It is a great product that I'm sure will meet your needs and help you on your journey to relaxation.

This unit is not safe. There is no safety rating either. It turns on without pressing the on button. Not safe to use.
