Replaced the plastic pool slide steps with these, and they look so much nicer

The steps are well made , the fasteners had allen heads on them allowing for easy securing and removal which was problematic with previous steps Hope to never replace these again but if i do it will be easy peasy

Love this so much more than the plastic. This is our first year with them just got them in the pool I will have to update after the summer

We've gone without a side wall ladder for a number of years as the hard plastic bumpers kept falling off, which will cause liner damage. I saw this kit and figured it was time to get a ladder back in place. The steps in this set were comparable quality to the originals. Everything is made of 304 stainless, including the hardware. I had to modify the bumpers because they were too big to fit inside the ladder poles. I shaved them down a little with a razor blade and securely got them in the poles with a hammer. I like that they're rubber and not the plastic the old ones were made of (liners are really expensive nowadays). I used the original escutcheons because they fit nice and snug on the ladder poles (the new ones were way too loose). Probably took an hour total to switch out the steps, get the bumpers to fit, and clean the ladder. I now have 3 extra steps for a future replacement. Good price and quality. I took a star off for the bumpers, but they might work for your ladder straight out of the package.

I think my pool ladders may be the originals that were installed with the pool (back in the late 80's!) and the only thing that hasn't been refreshed in my pool since then. This kit was EXACTLY what I needed! It replaces all the parts that wear over time and honestly, gives the whole pool a nice little face-lift!These are excellent quality and have a really nice weight and feel to them. All the edges are rounded and there are no sharp parts or pieces. It was super simple to assemble all the new pieces (I just attached everything to one railing first then attached the other rail, instead of trying to sandwich the pieces between the 2 railings) and I had the whole thing done in about 30 min. The part that took the longest was taking the old parts off!I want to mention that one of my biggest likes about these steps is that the treads are very securely in the steps. My old tread, which covered the length of the step, fell out all the time. We were constantly having to fish it off the pool floor and put it back in, under water, which wasn't easy or fun. Maybe it was because they were older than I am, but they were a real pain. The tread on these steps seems like it will never fall off. I'll be honest, I tried to pick/pry it off, out of curiosity and to see how easy it would be to put back on (in the case it did fall off, under water) but they are in there quite well and not coming off any time soon.I'm also THRILLED that this came with the ladder bumpers! They fit perfect too! These are NOT the hard plastic cups, rather they are the heavy, nice quality rubbery/silicone pieces that actually hold up over time. They fit right in the ends of the railings, but a little muscle, wiggling and finesse was required to get them secure and just right.My escutcheon plates were suprisingly still in decent shape, but didn't move over the railings without making a horrible noise, so I slid the new ones on. They have a nice, solid weight to them that keeps them grounded but still light enough to move up and down the poles. The edges are nice and smooth. Once the new ones were on, no more terrible noise!I was nervous that the steps/parts wouldn't fit, as I've ran into that problem A LOT with the fossil ladders I have. When I first saw the package (everything comes wrapped impeccably well so there is no shifting/scratching/damage during shipping) I was sweating because the steps looked too big. But when I got them next to the ladder I realized they were a perfect fit.We had been looking into replacing our ladders all together. The new ladders would have cost us around $350 each (yes there are cheaper ones, but they are lightweight junk). We decided to give this kit a try instead, as a last ditch effort. Well, it worked out absolutely PERFECT! The ladders are essentially brand new now, function great, look amazing and are solid! For only $50 (at the time of this review), you absolutely CANT GO WRONG with this set!Once I got everything installed, I immediately turned around and ordered another set for the other ladder. That's how thrilled I am with this product! Now I have 2 brand new ladders for under $100!

I was attracted to this set of steps since it come with the new bumpers for the pool wall and the stainless steel rings for around the top pool deck surface. Was a bit hesitant since all the review were from people who had been provided the product instead of buying it, but decided to give it a go.The steps themselves seem well made and sturdy, with a good finish, however the plastic tread plates were just pressure fit on short studs into holes on the steps and came loose while I was assembling the steps to the ladder. The tread plates themselves are thick plastic and look like they will hold up, but i had to use silicone adhesive to secure them to the steps. Hopefully they will stay.The bottom bumpers were of no use to me since they are sized for the bottom ends of the ladder to be flared to 1.9" OD just like the top. Since the bottoms on my ladder are not flared they did not fit and I cannot use them.The rings for around the top of the ladder are much more attractive than the plastic rings, but are a loose fit. The OD of the flared top of my ladder in 1.9" and the ID of the rings is about 2.04", so there is about a 5/32" gap when the ring sits to one side. I'll have to see whether these or the old plastic rings look better when I reinstall the ladder.While the extras have not proven to be beneficial, still hope the step will prove to be good. Appreciated having the new hardware come with it.
