We adopted a stray Border Collie GSD mix that arrived on our property covered in ticks and he was none too pleased with the tweezer removal. He’s currently tick free, but these have to be a better way to remove them as you only have to put the flat side on the skin with the tick in the large part then move the device with the tick bring in the thin part and keep pulling. The dog learned what tweezers meant and would bite me and carry on. Now if he gets loose and heads to the creek, I have an easy way to remove the ticks without him knowing. It also should pull out less of his skin which I’m sure he will approve of. One will remain in our emergency first aid kit and the other two will be added to our car key rings. I hope we will not have to use them often, but they will be handy when we do! I hope this review is helpful and I thank you for reading!

It only works on big ticks. We have a lot of tiny little ones and they just slip right through it

These tick removal tools are small and very light. They are very comfortable when dragging them across the skin and won't cause cuts or scratches. They are an effective and well designed tick removal solution.

I think they will work. I live in tick country Florida. So it’s only a matter of time. That said, as of now, don’t really know if it works. Conceptually, it should. My only issue is the soft metal (aluminum). Looks like it goes on a key chain, but it bends. Aluminum has give. Hoping it doesn’t bend so mush as to be unusable when I need it. I’ll update.

I have such a fear of tics as a worried mom, and the boys are always outdoors camping, hiking, and playing around and tics can easily hide on their skin. This tool avoids any direct contact if a tic was found on the kids or even the dogs. It is easy to store, like a keychain or on a small hanger in the closet. I definitely will be carrying this around as protection for easy removal in the case this occurs.
