I really like this checklist for organizing my family checklist. I wish it came with some kind of small magnetic hook so that it could be easily affixed to a refrigerator.

3 Pieces to Do List Checklist Boards, Plastic Memo Boards, Detachable Message Boards Checklist Slider, Schedule Planning Boards with 3 Acrylic Adhesive and 10 Cardstock for Check Items Accessoriesi recently watched a video of a young man expousing the benefits of writing notes in an actual notepad, instead of into a screened device. i laughed. i cried. i panicked. it was a whole slew of strange emotions. i was like i have been taking notes in notepads since the 80s. it is a habit i have kept up with even with the advent of smart devices entering iinto ubiquity. i still dont trust them with important thoughts. whether that is because i lived thru the era of things failing and bsods and such, where techincal failures caused loss of important data. or now with the big data issues of privacy and personal thought police. anyway, i bring this all up because these little todo lists are in that same vein. in a strange way steam punk something or other. i dont think the checkmarks or x-marks are contrasty enough, but good enough. i also, chose to use a label maker to make the lists look in a way synthetic and computerized BUT COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY OFF-GRID. my thoughts are my own. and my todo lists are also mine and not for anyone to see but those i choose to see. the label maker really makes the lists look sharp and precise. i am sure someone with nice penmanship will be fine with a sharpie. but my handwriting is atrocious. anyway, i have 3 todo lists. with different domains of life. i may have to get more as my domains expand and i have failed to complete existing lists. this, consequently, is how my little legal note pads begin to --seemingly replicate and grow in number as i have more ideas than ability to complete the ideas. outstaqnding.

An interesting gadget. This is sort of a throwback to a Victorian-era contraption, the “Household Wants List” that was featured prominently in the kitchen of "Downton Abbey". It's a no-tech solution to the clutter of notebooks and post-it notes. The device itself is very rudimentary. You insert an odd sized sheet of paper in it and write down your list. There are a few sheets included but if you use them all up, you could make your own. There is also a plastic sheet included to write with dry-erase markers but it feels like it might get a bit messy. You slide the little tabs from a red “X” to a green check mark as you complete each task (or pick up the beer on your grocery list.) It's like an app without batteries! The design is somewhat lacking or maybe it's just ripe for customization. It would be great if it worked with 4”x6” index cards. You would be more inclined to keep the cards after you completed your list. It's bland, white plastic that's not going to age well next to the stove. I'm dying to reverse engineer this and jazz it up a bit. The engineering is OK. The sliders are inconsistently loose or stiff. The paper is held in place by a snapped-in frame but it would be perfect if you could just slide an index card in the top. And how about SOME COLOR!

Got these to fill in the steps I need to hook/unhook my RV for trips. Leveling, power water, etc., so I don't miss any steps. They work well for that since there are 10 slots on each of them. If you had more than 10 steps of anything you could use two or even all three. The slide buttons click over nicely and don't slide back and forth if you tilt the boards. They come with adhesive strips but I chose to not stick them up. I just keep them on a shelf. They are very sturdy and feel good in your hands. I haven't found any rough edges to scratch. They also come with labels and I guess you could use standard paper as a refill if you needed to do so. Card stock might hold up better and seems like it would fit in the slots just fine. It's a nice way to keep track of completed steps

My kids shockingly love these things. They were all eager to sit down and write out their morning routines. My 8 and 6 year old especially really liked checking things off as they go... and it really helped reduce our chaos in the mornings. I like that it came with extra papers too so you can easily change it up.
