There is a screw inside, on the upper right, that I think you're supposed to remove and use to attach the ground wire to the box. At least that's what I used it for. That is not clear.

Good disconnect, the only complaint I have is the tiny lugs. 10 awg fits fine but I’m not sure if anything bigger would fit.

I'm thrilled with my recent solar system upgrade! I've expanded my setup significantly by adding two new strings, each with 11 panels. I've also integrated AC coupling into my existing 12 kW system and added two more 540 Ah battery banks for increased storage capacity. To improve power distribution, I installed a subpanel in my log cabin. For safety and maintenance, I installed several disconnect switches. On the AC side, I used a 30A switch for the AC coupling input and a 60A switch for the subpanel. Both are NEMA 3R rated, perfect for withstanding outdoor conditions. Their spacious design made wiring a breeze. On the DC side, I added a 32A solar panel disconnect switch to each new string. These offer crucial protection against over-voltage, overload, and short circuits. While I haven't tested the overload situation (following the "no news is good news" philosophy), I'm confident in my ability to safely isolate parts of the system when needed for maintenance or future upgrades.

This 30-amp disconnect switch is engineered for reliable performance and continuous service, making it ideal for residential, commercial, and industrial applications requiring quick and efficient power interruption. With a maximum carrying current of 30A, it accommodates most electrical needs, while its design provides ample space for wire connections and bending, simplifying installation and ensuring a clean, aesthetically pleasing setup. Constructed from durable galvanized steel with a dual-layer anti-corrosion and anti-rust coating, the switch offers exceptional resistance to scratches and environmental wear, meeting NEMA 3R standards to withstand harsh outdoor conditions such as thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds. Its compact, space-saving design features a rational layout that maximizes wiring room, and safety is prioritized with locking devices on both the casing bottom and toggle bar to prevent accidental operation. The quick-make, quick-break mechanism ensures positive and reliable switching, while the highly visible red handle grip with clear On/Off labeling enhances user-friendliness. Combining durability, safety, and ease of use, this disconnect switch is a robust solution for demanding environments, delivering stable performance and long-term reliability.

A reasonable benchmark for quality electrical gear are Square D products. Out of the box, this switch seems every bit as good as a Square D disconnect.Lockable cabinet and a lockable switch. The cabinet is nicely painted and has ample knock-outs to access the interior with your wiring. The hinged cover stays in the upright position as needed when working inside. The cabinet is well labeled with specs illustrated on the interior of the cover. Two-pole, 30 amp, 7.5 horsepower maximum.I do find it curious that there are no approvals stamped or referenced that I can see. Even a simple light switch in your home, for example, is stamped by Underwriters Laboratories (UL), so this is a question. One other thing I noticed is it appears that one screw/fastener hole affixing the switch body to the cabinet back is missing (circled). The switch is secured with two screws, but a third location is available, but unused. Seems like a wasted opportunity to mount the switch more solidly onto the cabinet.

I use this to disconnect my generator when I need to turn it on. It's well made. It works perfect and the function on. It is exactly what I need. It was very easy to install. It secures well to the wall, and it's not too big, which is what I was looking for, but it does work perfectly and it is a good deal for the money. Everything else was at least 2 times more expensive and so far. I've had 0 issues with it. It looks extremely well made, and like I said, operationally, I've had 0 problems. I don't use it a lot but so far what I have. I've had 0 problems with that. Well, made looks good. Should last a long time highly recommend it

I'm a little disappointed in this product. I'm using it to run power from a bank of 12V batteries to an inverter, so the inverter doesn't pop a fuse every time I connect alligator clips. I was able to test this out the other night, and everytime I threw the switch, I was not getting power. I retightened the connections, made sure everything was connected properly, but still no joy. I took my multimeter to it, and I was not getting any power to one leg of the switch. I figured out that one of the plates that the switch connects to was not making contact with the plate on the receiving end. I had to take a screw driver and bend the plate into place in order for it to make contact. Luckily I was only working with 12 volts DC and not 120V AC. After that correction, I threw the switch and it made contact properly. Honestly, I'd be a little hesitant on using this switch on a 120V circuit, as I do know how well the plates connect with the rest of the switch and if they might pose a fire hazard. The quality of the housing is pretty standard, and the rest of the unit was easy to install and mount. For the price, I would expect a better product.
