First off, the kit is put together nicely. Everything is decent.The colors are great, the pliers work well, and the aglets look good. Then there are the issues.Some of the aglets flake when pressed with the pliers, even using a cloth to try and avert the direct pressure. Some do, some don’t, some look great, some immediately look old when they flake.Nothing cramps your drip like a flaky flugelbinder. Custom made laces with custom aglets are sweet, but when they already look like they’ve been flaked more than a week old fish filet, it’s game over.And once crimped on that’s it - they aren’t coming off easily if you’ve got more strength than your great grandma’s bingo marker grip.

I liked the idea of metal aglets on my boot laces. The slipped right off the laces with gentle traction despite proper crimping. Any tighter would have easily flattened the aglet. The metal is just too thin. I ended up spraying the installed aglets with a plasticizing spray, overlapping the lace itself about a quarter inch, which held them onto the lace end. You get what you pay for.

The tips are really thin, cheap metal. They fall off the laces easily. Tossed them into the recycle bin.
