Timing a small Ford engine requires special tools. If you do not use these special tools there can be engine damage, issues with running, or even a problem with the components. The problem is that most of the special tools for just about any engine or mechanical thing are expensive and not worth the purchase for a single use, not to mention built for quality for repeated use. This timing tool set is perfect and comes in handy for the home use I require while rebuilding my engine. It was much cheaper to purchase then the OEM tools, and they work just as well as the factory tool. (Current Ford Tech) so I get to use the Ford tools on a daily basis. This tool works just as well, that I may end up purchasing this tool for my own tool box at work just so that I can save myself the time from getting it out of the parts department. Would recommend this product for anyone in need of an inexpensive special tool replacement for their engine endeavors.

As they say, having the right to for the right job definitely makes life easier than struggling without it. Great tool to have in the toolbox when working on timing. Nicely crafted aluminum but there were some nicks on the powder coating.

My wife and I still own our 2001 Focus and I put a new timing belt on it at 100K miles. Being a tool and die maker by trade, I made my own "special tool" to hold things in place. So when I saw this kit come up on VINE, I was curious to see just how close I got to the "real" tool. I have to say I got it spot on. The only difference between my tools and this store bought tool is the materials. Mine was made out of left over steel pieces and this was made of pretty, anodized aluminum. This tool should work perfectly and look good doing it. And at just $13 it is cheap insurance to help you line up the belt properly.
