I do plenty of gas and water plumbing both at home and at work, so I know these 1/2†inch stainless steel valves have a lot of purposes to control the flow of water or air. They also look great attached to industrial pipe bookshelves. I honestly just love the old school, red, metal, manual valve look and feel. These look great with an industrial or steampunk art vibe. We have made a few lights with gears and valves repurposed as switches!

It seems most items advertised as NPT pipe thread sold on Mamzon and made in China are actually straight thread. NPT thread has a taper so the threads seals tight as they tighten. This valve has either BSP (Brittish standard) straight pipe threads, or some metric variant.Absolutely useless with NPT, the thread are close enough to screw together and thats thedangerous part, those who used this valve in conjunction with true NPT thread have a half baked failure waiting to happen. This stuff it complete junk.Sending back, no more pipe supplies on Amazon for me.
