I bought this to replace my plastic one and wanted something more durable.I’m absolutely thrilled with this smaller colander! It’s just the right size for everyday use – perfect for draining pasta for two, rinsing fresh fruits, or straining veggies without taking up too much space in my sink. The compact size makes it so much easier to handle than those oversized colanders that always seem to get in the way. What I really love is the sturdy construction – it feels durable and built to last, but it’s also lightweight enough for quick kitchen tasks. The fine mesh is ideal for even tiny grains like quinoa, and the handles make it super easy to grip when things get hot. It’s easy to clean too – no stuck-on food, just a quick rinse, and it’s good as new!If you’re looking for something that fits in small kitchen spaces and still gets the job done like a pro, this is the one. Definitely recommend this colander for anyone wanting a quality, practical kitchen tool that won’t let you down!

Lightweight but nice and sturdy. I only needed the 1 1/2 qt size so the set is not only easy to use and to clean, but also to store. Rinse rice and then drain without mess. The holes allow you to rinse all types of rice and grains and beans, but are too big for quinoa. At the time I purchased the set, quinoa wasn't something I used. Now I just use a fine mesh strainer that I already have and prop it in the bowl of this set to drain. My set has been used at least 3 times a week and still looks new. Also, of interest, not only does the colander fit into the bowl, but the bowl also fits into the colander so you can use the set in this configuration to squeeze liquid out of defrosted or cooked spinach ... important for spinach casseroles. :)

Got it to soak beans overnight and make it easy to rinse them. Works wonderfully. I got the small size but I could also see using it for washing vegetables easy.Very sturdy and the bowls fit together great. The tape it was shipped with was unnerving, but seemed to clean off fine.Speaking from experience, not the best colander for hot stuff like par boiled beans, or boiled noodles, but works well for those too if you have some heat proof way to handle the metal bowls. I ended up using a dish towel and working fast. 😆Haven't actually used it for rice yet, but don't see it being problematic if I need to soak and rinse rice.Edit: wow, so apparently I've owned this for about a year now and it's a very regular use item in my kitchen. For the record I have used it for rice now and barring maybe five gains over the course of the entire time I've owned it getting stuck in the holes, it works great. I still use it to soak beans once or twice a month, but ever since I got my rice cooker I've been using this to rinse the rice maybe twice a week. I think I also soaked barley in it a few times. This is a tool I didn't expect to get so much use out of but now consider essential. I have low energy levels and this just helps make things easier.

Product received in good condition. I love the size of this colander. It's good for washing fruits, vegetables and large grained rice. The pores are too large for quinoa and small grained rice. I wish the pores were smaller. But it's a useful product. I'm replacing my plastic container with this one.

I think this strainer can last a lifetime. I wish I had just bought a solid stainless steel strainer right from the get-go. No more pouring hot water onto plastic strainers, so much easier to wash than a stainless steel flexible mesh. It's a little bit more expensive than others, but well worth the slight extra cost and cheaper then buying multiple strainers that can release chemicals into your food so you have to toss or are prone to breakage. Buy it.

I saw a few negitiv reviews about the quality but what I relieved was top notch. I got the largest size so many its different. But it's really big, just what I needed and the build quality is what I hoped for. This is going to get so much use in the kitchen.I used to take wire colander in a mismatched large bowl. While that works it's alot of wasted space, a bit messy. The shape of this and two pieces that fit like a glove means larger batches, cleaner, tighter space. Neat.

The Good: it is a luxury that I didn't know that I needed. I've had plastic or wire strainers before and I didn't know that was bad. This is a metal bowl with clean cut holes. It's at least 10 times easier to clean than plastic or wire mesh. There's nothing for food to get stuck on. There's holes but they are thin and easily rinse. Did not expect that.Plus the bowl/colander combo made use easier too. It's much more stable to add the food on the counter. Sometimes there's stuff in the sink or I just don't know how clean an empty sink is. Dumping it in the bowl while on a solid surface surprised me how much better it is. Just smoother.I bought it small on purpose. When I was cooking for 3 kids at home it would be too small. Just for my wife and I it's perfect. So far, nothing bad.
