I use these bags for my fruits and vegetables and they stay fresh longer. Best investment you could make because bananas stay yellow longer avocados in these bags last longer and fresh. I donΓ’β¬β’t know how it works and I really donΓ’β¬β’t care all I know is that if you donΓ’β¬β’t have any you need to get some itΓ’β¬β’s a money saver.

I only put 4 stars as the bags have no name or logo on themThey look like any show bag of other merchandize bag and I can't tellwhat they are.I have clipped the tops zig-zag so I knew what they are.Need to have a color stripe or logo etc on the.Otherwise seem to work fine. I aways got Debbie Meyers but want to see what in them!

The one-star ratings are apparently from people who immediately put the produce in the bag and left it out. That does not work; you have to allow the fruit/whatever to ripen, then rinse the food, dry it off, then *refrigerate* it. Tomatoes, bananas, everything lasts way longer for me. Banana skin turns dark, but inside it will still be firm, even after a couple of weeks. One time, I tried putting the bananas in the bag and immediately refrigerating them; the skin turned dark but the inside was still *green*! When used correctly, these things are a gem.

I would like these bags to be slightly wider and have a way to secure the ends.

I love these bags to extend the life of my produce. I introduced my sons fiance to them.

Why would i make such a big deal about plastic produce bags? Because my hometown decided to use compostible bags in the market. Its the law. And these bags breathe which means your produce will wilt in less than a day! Yikes! Does it have to be so hard to preserve freshness? Not if you get these reusable bags! So, dont delay and watch your groceries last much longer!

Being in a bit of a financial challenge right now I decided to see if there's a less expensive alternative to the "Green Bags" originally invented by Debbie Meyer. We've used those for years and, used properly, they work very well. These?Total waste of money. As a test I purchased a bunch of 8 bananas and put half in a simple zip-bag and the other half in one of these and sealed it with the twist-tie AND I spun the it around several times and tucked under the bananas - all to create an even more secure seal. First observation? The fruit-flies we've been fighting kept swarming the bag. This mean that even though they could not get to the bananas, the smell was still permeating the plastic. (Oh yeah, I also set the bags side-by-side so the external environment was identical.)OBVIOUSLY, this means the bag is NOT keeping the fruit from ripening, right?Right.Sure enough, there was no difference in how fast the fruit in these pathetic bags rippened vs what was in a simple zip-bag (not even name brand!).If you really want freshness to hang on a bit longer - drop the extra few bucks on the REAL "Green Bags" by Ms. Meyer.

Been using these for years, but they're getting difficult to find in the stores. These bags can more than triple the shelf life of produce. Being vegetarian, this is so handy, since many fruit and veg products don't freeze well, or last long in the fridge in normal bags. I Always keep a stash of these on hand.
