The strength and length of these long forks hold a hotdog with 2 prongs far enough from the fire pit that a person is less likely to be burned or the hotdog to fall off the stick. It is probably too long for some children to handle, but hopefully that prevents those too weak to hold the "sticks" to keep them from trying without an adult to help. There are tip covers for each prong on the the four fire pit "sticks" plus a nice cloth bag to keep them in. Great for campfires as well as home fire pits.

Loved these! The canvas storage bag is very handy and not made of some cheap material. Could easily fit 3 hotdogs at the same time, and these forks are so sturdy and well built we also used them to move logs around in the camp fire! Only negative (and loss of a star) is they are non adjustable and a little shorter than what's needed. You have to get somewhat close to the fire which is not ideal, especially for kids.
