I used to use masking tape to mark freezer food, but the masking tape often came off in the freezer. I really like this tape because it doesn't fall off and it stays sticky. I also think it's a good value for the price. This is going to last me quite a while.

I buy in bulk and separate and rewrap meats in heavy freezer paper. Tape is easy to dispense and holds good. Great quanity, will buy again IF I ever run out.

I cook a lot and make a lot of mother sauces and cook things in batches, so I tried to label pretty much everything that goes in the fridge. Prior to this, I used professional, dissolvable food labels, which are expensive, and once they get wet, they kind of crap out. God forbid you have some splashing in the kitchen, and a roll of it gets a little wet and ruined. I’ve also used painter’s tape, but I find that some pens and ink don’t play well with the painter’s tape.This tape is a little thin, but that makes it easy to tear off . It has just the right amount of adhesive that doesn’t come off when I first apply it, but when I’m done with that container, it peels off with no residue. I also like the surface that is a little dull and not like the fun colors of painter’s tape but is much more friendly with many more types of writing utensils, pens, pencils, and markers.
