This tool has got to be the most durable turning tool that I own.I recommend it highly for metal or hard material turning. The bits last a long time, you just have to turn the circle a bit for a new sharp edge. I recommend this.

The tool is great but had to pay extra for a surface grinder to fix the 3/4 size it gave me .850. Which didn’t fit my desired 3/4 size. The tool cuts great but the size was not what was said on the description.

A big caveat with this review- I am NOT an experienced machinist. I get by for our prototyping, but I may be missing something.This holder arrived with the installed insert broken. No big deal, I thought, there are 10 more. But I was wrong. This pre-installed insert sits directly on the tool holder body, retained by the shoulder of the Allen screw- see photo- the broken one with the larger hole. In product photos this insert is shown below the included inserts that have a bluish cast. These inserts can only sit above the shoulder of the Allen screw, and are retained by a clamp. It's not clear to me if this lower part is required for support. Like I said, I'm not experienced.I wanted the biggest, most solid holder I could fit for some heavy cutting. Unfortunately I may have ordered the wrong size (3/4") for my small (9") lathe. While a cutter mounted in the lower position would work, the upper position puts the cutting edge a hair above centerline- at least using any tool holders I have. That's not the fault of the product which, apart from being broken, seems of good quality. I should have opted for the 5/8" holder.Will update this if I learn more.
