Fits standard forklift plug, but only after grinding off a little tab in the alignments slot.

This product works great when using 1/0 copper cabling for connection to a heavy winch on a recovery vehicle. Heavy winches can cause a normal 175 Amp quick-connect to fail causing a fire of components, this product is of substantial constriction to prevent such a loss. Crimping 1/0 cabling into the contacts required a heavier duty crimper than I had but a farmer neighbor had the tool I needed. (Note: I had to drill/ream the mounting hole on one half of connector to 5/16" to permit a 5/16" hex headed bolt to be used to mount the stationary end of cabling for ease of assembly of connection.)

These style connectors are available in a huge selection of sizes and amperage's. If you are buying them to fit an already installed piece of equipment, make sure that they are the correct size for your application. This type of connector is probably the best 12 volt high amperage quick disconnect on the market. It is very suitable for hooking up portable winches (Check your maximum Amp draw!) and many other high amp devices. It can even be used to charge up separate batteries and standing vehicles. You will absolutely need a crimper to securely fasten these big contacts to whichever size cable you are going to use. There are many types of crimper you can use, the easiest type is the ones that look like a big pair of bolt-cutters but have a crimping head instead. The cheapest type are the big Hammer Crimpers available on Amazon. The best type are the big professional hydraulic crimpers that shops use. Speaking of wire size, the seller states that you can use up to AWG #2/0. I personally would not use anything smaller than #1AWG with this connector, if you are going to use #4 or #2, buy a smaller amperage connector. You do not want to use a big honking connector with teensy cable. This is not where you should cheap out. Pushing too many amps through a small cable can melt it and it could even catch fire. It’s not worth the risk.I do recommend these Quick Disconnectors!

This is a nicely made heavy-duty connector. The contacts are machined and heavy duty. The metal in the barrel is thick in order to maintain its shape after crimping. These will require a professional crimp tool. The connector housing is one piece. A flat spring retains the connector when inserted, which is done after crimping. A slender screwdriver is used to hold down the spring and release the connector if needed. Note that after crimping, the connector cannot be reused. I looked on their Amazon store and did not find the option to order only the connectors, but they have a full product line with lots of options. There is sufficient clearance inside the connector housing to accommodate wrapping the junction in electrical tape or covering it with heat shrink tubing. I am replacing the connectors on my winch, which are the original Anderson connector. These replacement parts are functionally identicle, and I am pleased with them!
