We always get a live tree but have been putting a towel down to protect the floor in case it overflows. This mat does a much better job protecting the floor, especially from scratches from the tree stand.

This mat does its job well. We used to just find some random piece of plastic to put under the tree.This is the right size for the trees we get. They are around 6-7 feet and the water stand is about 1 1/2 feet wide.The underside grips the floor well so it does not move around.All in all a good product for the problem at hand.

If you are looking to protect your floors from a tree stand or spilled water, this mat will help. The top is green felt and the bottom is a rubber mat. Water does not seep through it, and the rubber definitely keeps the mat from sliding on the floor. Nothing to fancy. Not to thick and lays flat. It was delivered in a vacuum sealed bag which caused it to have some deep crease marks, but then again, it will be laying on the floor under a tree and eventually will come out. It does the job.

The top side of the mat is like a felt material and the under side is a smooth slick almost plastic like material. I won't be buying a real tree until closer to the holiday however I started to decorate already. I have carpeted floors and need a waterproof mat, so I spilled some water onto the mat to check the waterproof functionality of it. I left the water there for awhile and it had not leaked through the mat, so I would say it functions as expected. For size purposes I put one of my 5ft artificial trees on on the mat and I would suggest choosing a size based on how wide the bottom tier of your tree will be and whether you want the mat to also catch any random tree sheddings.

I have mixed feelings on this item.Yes, it does match the descriptions given, but in no pictures (other than people's reviews) does it show the mat with creases in it. And yet, due to the way it's packaged, it comes out with folding creases. Not sure if they will iron out or just fade away over time and use. I'm a little hesitant to take an iron to it because it might not be smart with the underside material being plastic.If we got this item in the middle of summer, I'd leave it in the sun for a day, but of course this is clearly a winter item.It DOES provide the waterproof barrier that we needed to protect our wood floor.It's not terrible looking, just has all these creases.We will be covering it with a more festive tree skirt, but that means that we could have accomplished the same thing with a trash bag and a towel.

For many years, we used a raised-lip plastic tray specifically designed for under Christmas trees. It served us well but had aged out, becoming brittle and cracked, so it needed replacing. I chose the 36-inch Christmas Tree Stand/Waterproof Floor Protector as a replacement, and I’m not disappointed.The mat arrived vacuum-packed, so it’s quite creased, but there’s plenty of time for it to settle before use. I was pleasantly surprised by how thick it is, yet it won’t cause any instability for the tree stand. The top of the mat is a sturdy green felt, while the underside is made of very thick plastic that’s securely glued on. There’s no chance of water spills reaching my wooden floors through this protector.While it’s extremely practical, it’s not the most attractive item—but a festive tree skirt will easily cover it, making it both functional and discreet. I’m confident this will be a reliable solution for protecting my floors during the holidays.

Felt texture on top. Thin waterproof plastic on the bottom. Doesn’t move around and you can cut it if needed. This is much better than when I would just put garbage bags under the tree skirt. Delivered fast and good price- I wouldn’t pay more than $30 for this
