Second time I purchased one of these, the other was a little over 5 years ago. This one arrived on time and in excellent condition, works great and priced reasonably. The older one is still going strong, I use it at at work now and got a new one to haul my music gear around. Great buy

I ordered this dolly to haul boxes to the UPS store and I wanted something lightweight that would easily fit in my car. My old steel hand truck works great, but it is just too large and bulky for transport in my vehicle. This folding cart works much better since it fits flat in my vehicle, and I can strap bungies to it so that boxes don’t fall off. I will say, however, that the wheels on this are quote small and that this is only a light-duty cart designed for occasional use. I doubt the 380 lb capacity as it doesn’t seem to want to hold nearly that weight, I’d say it is really for half that weight. The hand truck is made of aluminum and plastic, and fortunately the platform is one of the metal parts. The 7-inch wheels are really just too small for going up and down stairs but fortunately they won’t ever go flat. If you need a cart for going up or down stairwells, I would look elsewhere for something with larger wheels. For flat surfaces and an occasional step, though, the wheels seem to be made of a rubbery coated flexible polymer material that works well on grassy fields as well as on pavement. Although I can see them getting hung-up in loose sand or gravel. No instructions came with this unit, but it is not difficult to figure out how to open and close it. The adjustable height handle is quite useful, as are the locking wheels, and I am glad that it is collapsible so that I can easily get it into my vehicle. As useful as I find this dolly, I do have a few other nitpicks, especially at this price:- The car flexes A LOT under heavier loads that do not even come close to the specified weight rating. Use caution if loading more than a couple of hundred pounds.- The handles are plastic, as is the extension button mechanism… I hope they hold up.- The handles tend to swing out of place when walking with the hand truck, which can be quite annoying.- Will the connection points rust in the rain? Hard to say, but I see areas of exposed metal that I do not think are aluminum like the frame, such as at the rivet points, and I do not know if they are stainless steel.- A mentioned earlier, I don’t trust that this is really rated to 380 pounds. I’d say it is probably only good for about half that.- My biggest concern is that all the connection points of the frame have plastic hinges and small rivets, which I worry that those are the weakest links in this whole cart. How will they hold up to repeated use? Only time will tell, but I can see them breaking if they have too much force, weight, or pressure on them, which would render the cart useless. If this cart does not hold up to extended use and the plastic breaks down, or if screws or rivets fall out or rust, or if a hinge or wheel breaks after extended use, then I will return to update this review.

TBH, I haven’t tested this to its 380lbs capacity, however, this folding hand truck/dolly has worked fantastically to move several heavy stacked banker’s boxes of office records. The feature that stands out the most to me is how it folds flat for transport and storage. Not only does it fold flat, but it also collapses in height as well to save even more space. Of course none of this storability or transportability will mean anything if this hand truck does not function well as a hand truck. IMHO it works great! Fortunately, unfolding the hand truck is pretty intuitive as mine arrived without any printed instructions. I started by unfolding the base/foot down on its hinges to “open†or “unhinge†it so it ends up forming a right angle with the body of the hand truck. It does take a little effort to completely fold it out but I found that by placing a foot on it to brace it on the floor while unfolding it makes it quite easy to open it fully. As you do this, the wheels automatically fold out and lock into position. By pressing down on a red button on one of the cross-members of the hand truck, you can extend the body of the hand truck making it taller, much the same way in which you extend the handle of some roll away suitcases. Extending the “handle†in this way gives you more leverage to be able to lift whatever you are moving easier. In addition, there are also handles that fold out and “lock†into place into some spring loaded detents giving you even more control over your load. When everything is locked into place, the whole hand truck is very rigid and strong. Unlike my traditional one piece hand truck which has a base/foot that measures 13†wide by 8†deep, a great feature of this hand truck is that the base/foot is very large (about 19†wide by 13 3/4†in depth). This wide “wheelbase†makes the hand truck very stable as well as ensuring that the bottom of whatever you are moving is completely supported. In my recent use of this hand truck to move several heavy banker’s boxes, this added support not only more securely supported the boxes, but also prevented the bottom of the cardboard boxes from being torn or damaged. In summary, this is a very well engineered hand truck/dolly that works great and that I highly recommend particularly for its utility as well as its ease of transport and storage.

I move heavy things around the house a lot: big outdoor planters, teak chairs, heavy stones, file boxes, sacks of potting soil, chest of drawers, etc. I've broken several smaller hand trucks that weren't up to the task of what was put on them. So, when I saw I could review this heavy duty dolly for the Amazon Vine program in exchange for an unbiased review, I jumped at the chance. As a seasoned gardener - who shleps a lot of heavy things around - this is a great hand truck. Here's my list why:1) It is well-made. You can feel it as soon as you lay your hands on it.2) It folds up for easy storage. (I have tripped over other dollies more than once.)3) It can carry heavy items - up to 380 pounds.4) It is relatively easy to unfold. Our gardener quickly figured out the it is best to lift up the wheels off the ground dolly slightly when unfolding because the wheels can drag on the ground and hinder the process.5) It has additional handles that that fold out to aid in pushing/pulling.6) It is a handsome addition to the garage work tool collection. One caveat: When folding up the dolly, be careful where you put your fingers so they don't get pinched.Bottom line: five stars plus
